The CLA, First Aid Series is a four-part program aimed at educating Security Professionals on how to respond to any situation involving First Aid.
The Series Consist of:
CPR for Officers
Each year, over 500,000 American suffer cardiac arrests. It has been
estimated that a great majority of these victims could survive if
given prompt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). In this program,
paramedics teach the basics of CPR and show you how to help adults,
children and infants until advanced medical help arrives.
Seizures, Diabetes and Heart Attacks
Did you know that a person in a diabetic emergency might appear intoxicated?
Could you name the three phases of a seizure? Did you know that because
a common initial response to the signs and symptoms of a heart attack
is denial, many people wait to long to seek help? Find out how to
recognize the causes and symptoms of these three types of medical
emergencies and your role in providing care until advanced medical
help arrives on the scene.
Shock and Shock Management
When we watch and listen to accident survivors on the television news,
we often tell ourselves that they’re “in shock?” However,
what does it really mean to be, “in shock?” In this program,
you’ll discover that shock is a state of failure of the heart
and blood vessel system. A dangerous condition if not corrected quickly,
can lead to death. You will learn the primary causes of shock and
how it presents itself differently in different people and how you
can aid the shock victim until advanced medical help arrives.
Bleeding, Bandaging, Burns and Moving Patients
The workplace is full of potential hazards for employees. In this program,
